My name is Sergio Rua. I was born in northern Spain many years ago and I've been living in the UK for more than five years. I'm an Independent IT Consultant.
What do I do for a living? It's quite simple. If you have an IT requirement be it setting up your company website or a more complex task such as a setting up a network, designing your IT infrastructure, helping with relocation or whatever is your problem I'm here to help. I can assist you hands on doing the work when required or simply providing experienced advice and project management.

Why? Information Technology is a quickly growing industry. Moreover it's a very complex area where more often than not you'll run into a problem. You most likely will need help and advice.
I personally don't like dealing with large companies where you seem to spend a lifetime queuing on a call centre waiting for someone to help. Everything always takes a long time. That's why I thought on offering a simple 1 to 1 service.
I've done from simple web programming to building cluster of servers, large databases, web hosting, mail hosting... all of these for reputable companies such as BT.
Within the last year, I've been acquiring more network skills and recently obtained the CCNP (Cisco) and the JNCIA (Juniper) certifications. I have also SC Clearance.
Where? I'm based in West Yorkshire and thanks to VPN networks and other technologies I do work remotely quite often. But if I need to, I have no problems traveling anywhere; it's actually one of my passions. I have recently been in Basle, Switzerland on business.
